Children in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 enter the building through the entrances on the Key Stage One playground. Children are collected from their classroom exit points on the playground or from the rear entrance at the end of the school day.

Children in Years 3 to 6 enter the school at the main entrance in the mornings at the front of the building and go straight to their classrooms. Y3/4 are collected from the top gate by the nursery and Y5/6 from the front entrance.

Children need to arrive at school on time. It ensures that their day gets off to a good start. They have the opportunity to socialise with their friends and organise themselves. However, if children are late for school they are often stressed as they may miss vital teaching instruction and find it difficult to follow the work of the rest of the children in the class. We open our school doors ten minutes before registration. Parents who accompany their children to school should, where possible, leave them at the entrance to the school. This allows your child to develop their independence and avoids causing possible disruption in school. It is also an essential part of the school’s safeguarding procedures. There will be a senior member of staff on the main door and on the KS1 playground, should you need to speak to somebody.  Any communication for teaching staff regarding family arrangements, appointments, collection arrangements at the end of day, etc., should be phoned or emailed to the school office in the mornings and the office staff will ensure that these are shared with relevant staff.
